Meet Our Principal

Dear Nina Harris Families,

I am honored and humbled to be the principal of Nina Harris Exceptional Center.  After many years working as the Director of Residential Treatment Center for special needs children in New York, I relocated to Pinellas County and began working as a school social worker and teacher in educational alternative services. I then earned my Educational Leadership certification and worked as an assistant principal at East Lake High School. I then moved to the principal position at the same school and was also the first principal at East Lake Middle School. After working as the Director of Special Projects for a year, I was fortunate to return to being a school-based principal, which is my passion.

Nina Harris is a special place for students. The major focus for our students is to increase their ability to express their needs and wants and be able communicate with others. In addition to socialization, learning state standards and core content is another focus.  Nina Harris has many fun activities for students throughout the year. My favorites so far this year must be the Halloween dance,  Snowapalooza and the Spring Fling!  Watching the faces of our students enjoying these events is the best part of my day!   Please feel free to contact me at the school with any questions or concerns and thank you for allowing me to partner with you in the education of your child.
